In response to COVID-19—Ramping up Recliner Ready & Renewability Capabilities

Wieland Healthcare is devoted to the health and safety of not only our employees and their families, but the communities in which we live. Like the rest of the world, we are confronted daily with new challenges and information regarding COVID-19. Following CDC recommendations, we continue to do our part in supplying the healthcare community with essential items and capabilities needed to fight this battle, while doing what we can to help flatten the curve.

In doing so, weeks ago, we committed to building 100 recliners per day, as part of our Recliner Ready Program, to respond to the need from hospitals in areas greatly impacted by COVID-19. We currently have hundreds of recliners ready to ship as early as the next business day when an order is placed.

To help provide as much information as we can to our customers about our Recliner Ready Program during this unprecedented time, we’ve put together the document below to help explain the specifications that you can expect with each order placed — including model, fabrics, and finishes.

COVID Recliner Ready Program Details

In addition to the Recliner Ready program, Wieland offers a breadth of products that are designed with renewability in mind. We understand that what once was normal in healthcare applications is a distant memory. We are aware of the vast changes and new standards that are being implemented at a rapid rate in order to get back to a somewhat normal state. Things like limiting visitors, wearing face masks, removing (or taping off) seating in waiting rooms to encourage social distancing, and increasing sanitation practices to name just a few. In an effort to effectively clean commonly touched surfaces, it’s increasingly likely that waiting areas and lounges will transition from woven upholsteries to non-woven options.

We want to help make that transition easier for everyone involved. Our inherent renewable construction allows for several renewability options. The quickest, simplest, and most budget-friendly option is swapping out seat and back covers that are dressed with woven upholsteries to non-woven options. Hook and loop closures keep the fabric securely in place, yet allow on-site removal for cleaning or replacement in just a few simple steps.

To learn more about these capabilities, and renewability options on your existing Wieland furniture, contact your Sales Representative or Customer Care team member at 888.WIELAND.
